Support Assistant at Uttervägen in Umeå Municipality
The Disability Care Services in Umeå Municipality aims to be a resource that liberates and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life through proximity and interaction.
Uttervägen is a group home according to LSS with a focus on intellectual disabilities. The residence houses young active users with a strong interest in training. All users live in their own apartments and share common areas such as kitchen and living room.

Your Responsibilities
As a support assistant, you support users in their daily lives with approved services such as meals, cleaning, laundry, personal care, transfers, and planning activities. You provide individual, social, and practical support to enable and utilize the person's own abilities, thereby creating conditions for independence. You work to make the individual involved in their daily life and have a meaningful leisure time and/or occupation.
Your work includes participating in the activities chosen by our residents, which may involve the gym, home, or the forest. Documentation, record-keeping, working with implementation plans, and medication management are also part of the job responsibilities.
Sometimes there are animals, dogs, at Uttervägen, so you should not have pet allergies. Threats and violence may occur in the operations.
Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, weekends, and night shifts. Coordination occurs between our operations within disability care services.
About You
You have a good ability to collaborate and maintain a professional demeanor towards users, relatives, and other stakeholders around our users. You are engaged and willing to share our values and work towards set goals, as well as work with continuous improvements. You have a solution-focused and flexible working style and enjoy creating and maintaining structure. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
To communicate with users, relatives, and colleagues, write and access care documentation, and obtain medication delegation, you need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.
Requirements
- Care and nursing program, child and leisure program, social work program, or another education that we assess as equivalent
- Experience working in the field of intellectual disabilities
Meritorious
- Experience in interaction within the disability field
- Experience in behavioral support and clear pedagogy
